HVAC FAQs
FAQ
How often should I change my filters?
Depending on the type of filter and the environment it is in it can change frequently it is required,
but typically in a home it should be checked every month and changed quarterly. Some filters only
need to be changed yearly. There are a wide selection on the market and we only recommend pleated
filters at a minimum. Some system modifications must be made to increase the filter media. In a
commercial enviroment typically quarterly or every six months.
How often should my HVAC system have scheduled maintenance performed?
Typically a system should have a maintenace performed every six months. Once for heating and once
for cooling. When the maintenace is performed there are a number of things that should be checked
to ensure worry free performance. We use a check sheet that is used as a receipt. This helps our
company and you by showing you how the system is operating and we can use this information later
if any problems come up.
Commerical systems perform at peak performance when scheduled maintenance is completed on a
quarterly basis. This ensures less down time and that means a more comfortable office, retail space,
restaurant, or data center. This means a more profitable enviroment for customers and employees.
Which type of system is better, a gas furnace or a heat pump?
Well, there are many things that must be considered before choosing your heating source. On
a system replacement certain things should be taken into consideration, such as electrical load
availability, type of gas available, gas piping, electrical wire sizing, gas discharge venting, how
well insulated and sealed the structure is, and accessibility.
